Planning a trip to Angola and need to apply for the Angola visa on arrival but worried about the costs? Let us help you budget appropriately for your visa.

Before Angola reopened for tourism, the Migration and Foreigners Service Office introduced a pre-registration system within the Angola visa services for the Angola tourist visa on arrival in 2018. The new pre-visa online applications were fully implemented once the country reopened for tourism.

This system helps streamline the visa application process, but many are wary about the costs the new process may entail. To ease the uncertainty, we created a breakdown of the application process and the visa costs.

If you want to read more about the visa on arrival and who needs it, you can read our ultimate guide to the Angola visa on arrival.

What Is the Angola Visa on Arrival?

The Angola pre-visa is also known as the Angola e-visa or visa on arrival. It is an official travel document approving foreign nationals to travel to the Republic of Angola for tourism, business, or family visits. The Angola tourist e-visa on arrival application process is done entirely online and helps you avoid long queues at the border.

It is called the pre-visa or visa on arrival because you receive approval to get a physical Angolan tourist visa at the airport when you land in Angola. Please note this visa is not a work visa, and living or working in the country is not permitted with an Angola visa on arrival or a tourist visa. If this is the reason for your travel, please get in touch with your nearest Angolan embassy to apply for the correct Angolan visa.

How long is the Angola Visa valid for?

The Angola visa on arrival is valid for a stay of 30 days in total. However, you must visit Angola within 60 days of receiving your pre-visa approval to use it. Otherwise, you will need to reapply.

Do I need to apply for an Angola Visa?

Most visitors to Angola will need to obtain an Angola ordinary visa or apply for a pre-visa online unless they are nationals of visa-exempt countries. If you are uncertain whether you qualify for an Angolan visa on arrival, use our visa checker tool to clarify your visa needs first.

That said, over 65 countries are eligible to apply for the Angola visa on arrival online.

How Do I Apply for the Angola Visa Online?

iVisa has made the application process extremely easy with just three simple steps:

  1. Fill out your basic information and confirm that all the details are correct.

  2. Choose your preferred processing time and pay the service fee using a credit or debit card.

  3. Upload any supporting documents and submit your application.

We will take it from there and email you confirmation of your Angola visa. You will require a printed version of the pre-visa document when you arrive in the country.

Required documents for the Angola visa on arrival application

To complete your Angola visa application, you will be required to submit the following documents:

  • A recent passport photo.

  • A scan of your valid passport, specifically the personal details page.

  • Yellow fever vaccination card.

  • Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation.

  • Confirmed onward ticket.

  • Bank statement proving that you can afford to spend USD 200 for each day of your stay in Angola.

  • Email address to receive the documents.

  • Payment method.

How Much Does the Angola Visa on Arrival Cost?

Before we can get into the actual visa fee and processing costs for the visa, we need to identify items you may need to apply that could add to the costs. We advise adding the costs of the yellow fever vaccination (if required) and updated passport photos into your budget, which you can get through our photo service for as little as $1.37 per photo.

On to the actual visa application costs, there are two parts to consider. First is the iVisa service fee, which is charged based on your nationality and the processing time selected for your pre-visa. iVisa offers three processing options for the Angola Visa application form:

  • Standard Processing time, which takes 8 days.

  • Rush Processing time, which takes 6 days.

  • Super Rush Processing time, which takes 4 days.

The second cost to consider is the Angola visa on arrival fee (visa issuance fee) of USD 120 paid on arrival in the country. Please note this visa fee is paid in cash to the government of Angola at the airport.

Aside from the visa, all travelers must meet COVID-19 requirements, including applying for a travel registration. You can apply through us for this registration, which will entail a separate processing fee.

Therefore, we recommend budgeting approximately USD 400 - 500 to cover all possible administrative costs you may encounter when planning your visit to Angola.

COVID-19 Requirements or Restrictions

Once you have your final visa, you are ready to explore Angola. However, there are some things to remember when traveling amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes meeting all COVID-19 requirements and travel restrictions which may change on short notice.

Thus, we advise all travelers to check local news and their airline website for updated COVID-19 protocols, such as requirements for an international certificate confirming COVID-19 vaccinations.
