The citizens of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China have access to a Cuba Tourist Card. Ig you are from Hong Kong, you are no longer required to go to the nearest embassy of Cuba to get your visa. Instead, you can apply online for a Tourist Card with the help of iVisa. The application process is entirely online, and your Tourist Card can arrive in as little as 1 business day.
What are the requirements?
The Cuba Tourist Card does not have difficult requirements. In fact, all you need is a passport and to fill in an online form. iVisa will not ask you to upload any documents during the process. However, when you arrive in Cuba, you need to present the documents listed below:
- Passport – the passport you have needs to maintain its validity for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Cuba. If it does not, you need to get a new one.
- Tourist Card – the document that iVisa will send to you via postal mail.
- A flight itinerary both to and from Cuba
- Travel insurance – this is a rule that began to take effect back in 2010. If you do not have travel insurance, you have the option to purchase one once you arrive in Cuba.
Another thing that you need to know is that your child cannot travel on the same Tourist Card as yourself. He or she needs his/her own document.
The application process
iVisa has created a simple but comprehensive 2-step application form that you should be done within just 10 minutes. If you need some help or you have some questions, all you need to do is contact iVisa’s support service which is available 24/7.
The first step of the application requires you to fill in a personal and travel information form. You must also select the visa type and one of the three available processing times. As for the visa type, all non-US applicants must choose the International Tourist Card. As for processing time, you can select the one that best suits your needs. They are as follows:
- Standard processing – your application is processed, and your Tourist card arrives in 3 to 5 business days. This processing time costs $55.
- Rush processing – your Tourist card arrives within 1 to 3 business days, and the cost is $75.
- Super Rush processing – you will have your Cuba Tourist card in 1 business day, and you will be charged $95. The shipping is included in the price in all three cases.
The second step of the application consists of revision and payment. The former is often underestimated, but you must make sure that all the information you provide is accurate and does not include typos. Otherwise, you may have to repeat the process, and the cost is non-refundable. The payment can be made using one of the multiple available means accepted by iVisa. You can use a credit/debit card, a Paypal account, Alipay, or WeChat. After you are done with that as well, just submit your application and then wait for your Tourist Card to arrive within the timeframe of your choice.
As you can notice for yourself, getting a Cuba visa for the citizens of Hong Kong is as easy as pie. You barely have to do anything, and your document arrives shortly. You can stay up to 30 days in Cuba, you have the possibility to extend your stay with another 30 days, and you are granted a single entry.
