One of the most typical attractions in Havana that one would not imagine to exist in Cuba is the Cristobal Colon Necropolis. This cemetery, considered a national monument, is one of the largest in South America.

The tours of this place are not considered as creepy or dark tourism. Tourists usually visit this monument for its history and culture, quite famous for its religious iconography and impressive marble statues. During this tour you can walk through the 57 sacred hectares, if you wish, at the main entrance you can buy a map of the place with a legend of all the tombs of various artists, politicians, athletes, scientists, writers, and revolutionaries of the country.

One of the most visited tombs of the place is located to the northeast of the central chapel is the tomb of Mrs. Amelia Goyri, known as La Milagrosa, who died giving birth on May 3, 1901. This is one of the most beautiful sculptures in the precinct, one can observe a woman with a large cross and a baby in her arms.
