Czechia or the Czech Republic is much more than the city of Prague, and it has a great and extensive train and bus network to get around. You can even plan to visit Germany, Austria, and Slovakia while you’re there.

To really see Czechia at its fullest, you need to step outside of Prague and discover cities like Karlovy Vary, Ceske Budejovice, and Telc. These are only a few great ideas to add on your tourism list to enjoy the local culture and admire its architecture. The adventure is even better when you can simply enter the country with no more than a passport, like citizens of Costa Rica can do.

Fill me in

For all travelers who are currently part of the Schengen visa-free program, like Costa Rican citizens, this easy pass will have a small barrier. The Schengen region has created and will implement an ETIAS, a digital travel authorization to analyze the passengers' information and verify that they are in no way a threat to the Schengen states.

The Czech ETIAS application for all citizens of Costa Rica will be done online and can be easily completed on the official website or through the iVisa.com platform. It might seem like a troubled process to enter the Schengen Area, but it’s much easier than going for a Schengen visa process. An ETIAS is, however, only valid for short trips such as tourism, business, or medical visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do travelers need a Czech ETIAS?

Very soon, the Schengen region will be implementing the recently created Czech ETIAS documentation. It’s a travel authorization form required by all travelers entering the Schengen Area and coming from a visa-exempt country. Applying for the Czech ETIAS will work as a prescreening process of the traveler to verify that their data is updated and correct, and to “track” that they are not looking to stay as illegal immigrants.

Does every Costa Rican citizen need the ETIAS?

Any citizen of Costa Rica that wants to visit the Czech Republic or any other Schengen country must apply for their Czech ETIAS before departing to the European continent. There is currently no age limit to whom must apply for it. The only possible difference during the application is that citizens under the age of 17 and those over 70 will more likely pay a cheaper processing fee.

When should citizens of Costa Rica apply for the Czech ETIAS?

There is no requirement as to when you should start your Czech ETIAS application process before your trip. But a useful tip is to have your application form submitted a couple of days or up to 24 hours before your journey. This is only because, although the process is fast and you can even select a faster processing speed with iVisa.com, you can never be too confident of the final outcomes.

How long is the Czech ETIAS valid for citizens of Costa Rica?

The duration of your travel document will be determined by your submitted Czech ETIAS application form. Based on the information you include on your paper; the final results may be the entire duration of your trip, or up to 3 years. In both cases, you will have access to any of the Schengen countries with the option of multiple entries during the ETIAS validity.

Can Costa Rican citizens stay in the Czech Republic for a month?

The Czech ETIAS allows travelers to stay in any of the Schengen states for up to 90 days in 180 days. However, the validity of your ETIAS will be determined by your submitted ETIAS application form. Based on these results, you will be allowed to remain in the Czech Republic for the duration of your trip, which might be more or less than one month.

Do I need any specific documents to apply for the Czech ETIAS?

The Czech ETIAS online application is very straightforward, but to complete your form, you will need the following documents:

  • Valid passport you will need to include the details of your passport on the application form and might need a digital copy of it to ensure your information is correct.
  • Email address it will be used as your channel of contact with iVisa.com and to receive your ETIAS results.
  • Payment method you can use a PayPal account or your credit/debit card to make the fee payment.

Can I get the ETIAS results in less than one week?

The ETIAS online application process after submission should not take more than one week, but because it’s still to be implemented, we do not have evidence of the actual speed. The iVisa.com platform does, however, not only offer an easy methodology to get the application form completed in a few minutes, but it also has options to make your process end faster.

The application method with iVisa.com consists of three steps:

1.Start by completing your ETIAS form with your personal details, and pick the best processing time for your form submission.

  • Standard processing time - is the cheapest yet slowest process to get your ETIAS results.
  • Rush processing time - is a bit more expensive than the previous option, but you receive your results in less time.
  • Super rush processing time - this is the fastest option to obtain your ETIAS documents but will be a higher fare.

2.Your second step requires a revision of the information provided and ensure that it is correct and valid. You must then make an online payment.

3.Finally, you may need to upload the passport copy or include additional information for the ETIAS process. Once done, click on “Submit”.

How safe is my personal data with iVisa.com?

The iVisa.com platform is designed to make the ETIAS application easier and safer for all users. From the moment you create your account and start completing your application form, your information is protected by the platform security system. You can trust that your application and your data will be 100% secure with iVisa.com.

You can see some clients’ reviews to confirm this.

If I still have some questions about the Czech ETIAS, who can I ask?
