ETIAS Venezuela: The application for Venezuelan citizens

Planning to cross the Atlantic Ocean to explore Europe's unique attractions? It definitely will be a worthwhile experience. However, from 2023 onwards Venezuelan citizens will need to apply for the ETIAS to visit most of the countries on the European continent. The document will be required to enter the Schengen area.

The ETIAS will be mandatory for tourism, business, and medical trips. But once you have an ETIAS, it's valid for 3 years and allows multiple entries. Venezuelan citizens with an ETIAS can travel to Europe for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

It's important to know that if you have a valid ETIAS, but your passport expires, you'll need a new passport and apply for the ETIAS again since this travel authorization is connected with the document. But the good news is that it is very easy to submit the ETIAS application form because the entire process is online and takes just a few minutes.

Just be aware that travelers with the ETIAS request blocked will be denied entry into European countries and can't cross borders. Read more below.

Schengen Countries and other EU countries that require the ETIAS

The Schengen Zone is composed of 26 European countries and member-states. The nations agreed to facilitate the flow of people across European borders, and the abolishment of passport requests was part of it.

But, to improve the area's security, Schengen members decided to introduce the ETIAS as a requirement for travelers. Check the countries that will require this visa waiver below:

Austria Belgium Luxembourg The Netherlands
Germany France Spain Portugal
Sweden Finland Denmark Lithuania
Latvia Estonia Poland Slovakia
Hungary Slovenia Italy Greece

ETIAS Fees and processing times

iVisa offers three processing options for ETIAS with different costs:

  • Rush processing time: If you need the ETIAS quickly, this is the option for you.
  • Super rush processing time: If it's a last-minute trip, and you need to receive your ETIAS ASAP, this is the best option to get it on time.

Why was the travel document created?

The ETIAS is a new visa waiver program developed to increase security within European borders. The Countries and member states from Schengen Zone, among other countries from EU or non-EU, decided to implement it to reduce the risk of crimes like human traffic and terrorism.

The ETIAS authorization system will analyze the travelers' records through European security databases, such as SIS, VIS, Europol, and EURODAC. Additionally, the countries will share the travel information and alert each other of any suspicious notification.
