Go to Medellin!
The city of Medellin is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Latin America. The Medellin Tourist Board estimates that over 4 million people visit the city each year. This number can be even higher when you include those that visit nearby towns and villages.
The city also has a large cable car system called Metrocable which was built in 2004 and runs from Santo Domingo up to Acevedo Station, going over Comuna 13 neighborhoods. The ride takes around 15 minutes and is a great way to see some of the shanty towns or comunas that are Medellin. It's also one of the best ways for tourists to get a view overlooking the city on clear days.
There are several companies in Medellin that offer guided tours of other nearby attractions including Minca (a town located at an elevation of 8500 feet), El Peñol de Guatape which is another large rock formation overlooking the surrounding area, La Ceja (another nearby town) and many others. It's also possible to arrange a private day tour which will include transportation from Medellin and a guided tour of the destination.
