Planning your trip to Kenya from South Sudan? Let's find out if you need an ETA and how to get one.

Applying for a Kenya ETA may feel overwhelming, particularly if it's your first time, but we've found a way to make the process easier for you. The first thing you need to figure out is if an ETA is necessary.

Fill me in

By the time you're done reading this, you'll have a clear understanding of whether a Kenya ETA is necessary for South Sudanese citizens and residents and the steps to apply for one. Soon, you'll be on your way to experiencing all that Kenya has to offer, like the flamingos at Lake Nakuru or exploring the ancient ruins of Gedi near Malindi. Let's get started.

Do South Sudanese citizens need a Kenya ETA?

The Kenya ETA, which has replaced the Kenya eVisa, is mandatory for all international travelers. However, some countries are exempt from this requirement.

South Sudan belongs to a regional economic alliance known as the East African Community(EAC), which also includes Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. Citizens of EAC Partner States don't require an ETA to enter Kenya.

It's important to note that this exemption applies only to passport holders and citizens of EAC nations. If you live in South Sudan but aren't a citizen of an EAC member country, you'll need to apply for a Kenya ETA for your travels to Kenya.

Here's what you need to know about the Kenya ETA.

How to apply for a Kenya ETA from South Sudan with us

We offer a service to help you apply for a Kenya ETA if you're a South Sudanese resident. You'll have access to a simplified application form that's easy to fill out and understand (you'll be done in less than 15 minutes!).

Our team of experts will review your application once you're done to make sure it's correctly filled and free from mistakes, thus increasing your chances of ETA approval.

Here's how to apply:

  • Step 1: Go to our website or download the iVisa app to start your application. Enter your personal and travel details.

  • Step 2: Verify that all your information is accurate. Choose your preferred processing time and pay the ETA and service fees with a credit or debit card, PayPal, or Venmo.

  • Step 3: Finish filling out the application form, upload the required documents, and submit your application.

Once your ETA is granted, we'll send it to your email. Remember to print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone before traveling to Kenya.
