Liechtenstein ‌is‌ ‌also‌ ‌known‌ ‌as‌ ‌the‌ ‌Principality‌ ‌of‌ ‌Liechtenstein.‌ ‌ ‌It‌ ‌is‌ ‌also‌ ‌the‌ ‌smallest‌ ‌country‌ ‌bordering‌ ‌the‌ ‌two‌ ‌countries.‌ Liechtenstein ‌is‌ e‌ ‌one‌ ‌of‌ ‌only‌ ‌two‌ ‌doubly‌ ‌landlocked‌ ‌countries‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌world,‌ ‌along‌ ‌with‌ ‌Uzbekistan.‌ ‌The capital of Liechtenstein is Vaduz. Schaan is one of its largest municipalities. The eastern side of the two-thirds area is made up of rugged foothills of the Rhätikon Mountains, part of the central Alps. The highest peak is known as Grauspitz which is about 8,527 feet tall. The lower slopes of the mountains are covered with evergreen forests and alpine flowers, and their top peaks are covered with snow. The mountains are drained by the Samina River and contain three major valleys. Until the 1930s the river valley was marshy but after the drainage channel was built which has made the rich soil more suitable for agriculture. The climate of Liechtenstein is greatly affected by the warm southerly wind known as the foehn. It has a mild climate.
