How Long Do I Have to Wait for My Application to be Processed?
A Malawi e-visa application can be processed in three different speeds:
- Standard Processing: Application will be processed in 10 days
- Rush Processing: Application will be processed in 9 days
- Super Rush Processing: Application will be processed in 7 days
What Documents Am I Required to Submit for My Application?
When you are in the process of filling out your e-visa application, you will be asked to scan in several documents and then upload them to the application before you submit it for approval:
- A photo
- A copy of your passport details page
- Evidence of accommodation during your stay in Malawi
If the application is for a minor, you will be required to submit additional documentation:
- The minor's birth certificate
- The minor's legal guardian's passport page
- Consent letter
Do I need a Visa if I Am In-Transit?
It depends. Every person from a country that is not approved for visa-free entry to Malawi is required to have a visa, even in-transit travelers. In-transit travelers who are approved for visa-free entry need not apply for a visa.
