Business visas are issued for a variety of reasons including meetings, conferences, seminars, contract negotiations, marketing, sales, purchase distribution of Nigerian goods, trade fairs, job interviews, training of Nigerians, emergency/relief work, crew members, staff of NGOs, staff of INGOs, researchers, and musical concerts.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Documents Will I Need to Complete the Application?

The following documents will be asked of you when you are filling out your business visa application:

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months with at least 2 blank visa pages for endorsement.
  • Two (2) recent passport sized (35/40mm) photograph.
  • Return ticket.
  • Evidence of sufficient funds.
  • Evidence of Hotel Reservation/host address in Nigeria.

If you are applying for the business visa on arrival, you will need:

  • Passport Photo (colored)
  • Introduction/Application Letter
  • Copy of Passport Data Page
  • Copy of Airline Return Ticket
  • Invitation Letter from Host Company
  • Corporate Affairs Commission Certificate from Host Company

Who Can Apply for a Business Visa?

Nearly everyone is eligible to apply for a Nigerian business visa. However, citizens of countries that are on the ban list are ineligible and ECOWAS Nationals do not need to obtain a business visa.

Citizens from the following countries do not need a visa to enter Nigeria:

People from countries not listed must have a visa unless they fit into the qualifying categories set by the Nigerian Immigration Services. However, most other people will need a visa. You will not be exempt from needing a visa for Nigeria unless you are from one of the countries listed above or you hold a Nigerian passport.

When Should I Apply for My Business Visa to Nigeria?

For both the business visa and the visa on arrival, you should apply about 14 days prior to when you plan to depart for Nigeria.

Does This Visa Allow Multiple Entry?

The business visa for Nigeria is intended for short business trips and allows Single entry. Keep in mind that the Nigerian business visa allows a max stay of 90 days per entry.

When Does This Visa Expire?

The Nigerian business visa will expire 14 days after issued.
