What is the Niue Traveler Declaration Form?

Niue opened up for tourism in June 2022. However, all travelers to Niue must fill out a traveler declaration form with their flight details, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or COVID-19 test result, and other personal information. It is a replacement for the previous Niue contact form, used to monitor travelers entering the country in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After completion, the applicant will receive a traveler pass, which states all the individual requirements for entering the country based on their details. To board their flight to Niue, passengers must present their pass, which contains a unique QR code. They must again show this on arrival at the customs desk on a mobile device or printed version.

Who must fill out the Niue Traveler Declaration Form?

According to the Niue government, all travelers wanting to enter Niue must complete and submit a Niue Traveler Declaration. This applies to all incoming passengers, including minors, citizens, and permanent residents.

Validity of the Niue Traveler Declaration Form

The health form and traveler pass are valid for the intended travel dates to Niue, with a maximum of 30 days (the maximum stay on a tourist visa).

You must submit your completed declaration within 24 to 48 hours before your flight departs for Niue, compliant with pre-departure COVID-19 testing requirements (see below).

• Passport details, valid for six months beyond your departure date from Niue

• Negative COVID-19 RAT test result not older than 24 hours or 48 hours if coming from an approved country (children under 3 are exempt) - if applicable

• Exemption documents to prove you tested positive for COVID-19 between 11 and 28 days before your trip (exempt from testing) - if applicable

• Proof of travel insurance that covers medical evacuation for non-residents and essential workers - if applicable

Costs and processing time of the Niue Traveler Declaration Form

Traveling to Niue with minors

Minors also need to submit a completed Niue Traveler Declaration Form. However, parents or legal guardians can assist. The following exemptions apply to minors:

• Children under 3 years old are exempt from the pre-departure testing requirements and do not need to upload a negative COVID-19 test result to submit their declaration.

• Children under 16 do not need to be vaccinated to enter Niue. They do not need to upload proof of vaccination to submit their declaration.

COVID-19 requirements or travel restrictions in Niue

Everyone traveling to Niue by air must complete a declaration to receive a Traveler Pass before they travel, including Niuean citizens and residents, children, and infants. To obtain the Traveler Pass and enter the country, you must meet specific COVID-19 requirements, as indicated below.

Vaccination requirements to visit Niue

Every visitor aged 16 years and older must be fully vaccinated to enter Niue. To confirm you've received a full course of COVID-19 vaccines, you need a digital vaccine passport or another electronic or paper document. Your name on your passport must be the same as on your proof of vaccination document.

Testing requirements to visit Niue

A negative pre-departure test result is still required even if you are vaccinated against COVID-19. Rapid Antigen tests are permitted and must be taken within 24 hours before travel or 48 hours if coming from an approved country.

Approved countries are New Zealand, Australia, Cook Islands, Tokelau, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Tuvalu, Nauru, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, France, United Kingdom, Germany and United States.

Be also aware, that all travelers entering Niue will be PCR tested after they arrive on day 1 and on day 3.

Children under 3 and travelers who tested positive for COVID-19 between 11 and 28 days before departure are exempt from both pre-departure and post-arrival testing.

Note: if you test positive for COVID-19 less than 10 days before your flight, you are not allowed to travel to Niue.

Travel insurance covering COVID-19-related events

To travel to Niue, you are required to have travel insurance. Make sure that your insurance covers COVID-19-related medical treatment and travel disruption.

Other entry requirements for Niue

You can get a visa on arrival for Niue for a maximum of 30 days. If you'd like to stay longer, contact your nearest Niue embassy or consulate to apply for the appropriate visa.

Visitors must book their accommodation prior to arrival. You may also be asked to show that you have sufficient funds for your entire trip while in Niue and may be asked to validate this upon entry.

Those coming to Niue on yachts, cruise ships, and other sea vessels are still not allowed to access the island, except for those approved by Niue's government.
