Oman Visa fee for Indian citizens
iVisa

Updated on May 14, 2024

There are more than 60 countries whose citizens can apply for an Oman eVisa. As an Indian national, however, you only have access to the Oman electronic visa if you're also a resident of one of the GCC countries. For the regular eVisa, you must go to your nearest Oman embassy or consulate to apply for a tourist visa. Read more below.

While the regular Oman tourist visa is currently unavailable to Indian citizens, you can apply for a GCC Resident eVisa to Oman if you have a GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) residence card and approved profession.

With iVisa, you can make the GCC Oman e-visa application from the comfort of your home and receive it in as little as 3 days. As for the costs, the price of your Oman GCC Resident eVisa varies, depending on the processing time you prefer. Find more detailed information below.

Do I need a visa to enter Oman as an Indian passport holder?

Indian passport holders must obtain an eVisa to visit Oman. While you cannot currently make an application through iVisa for the Oman tourist visa, it is possible to apply for the GCC Resident Visa to visit Oman from another GCC country. This visa is slightly cheaper than a regular tourist visa.

Check all the requirements below or apply now.

Differences between a regular Oman visit visa and the GCC visa to Oman

There are different Oman visas with varying visa requirements. Indian nationals can currently only apply for the GCC Resident eVisa. Here are the differences:

  • Tourist eVisa: This is an electronic visa for which the application can be made 100% online. This visa is currently not available for Indian nationals on iVisa. Please contact your nearest embassy or consulate for more information.

  • GCC Resident eVisa: This is an authorization document that allows foreign passport holders with visas or residence cards from GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) states to travel to Oman. If you are an Indian citizen wanting to apply for this visa, you will need to submit a copy of your GCC visa or residence card.

What is an eVisa?

An eVisa is an electronic document issued by the Government of Oman and is linked to your passport. This visa allows certain nationalities to enter this country legally and for a short period, just like a standard visa. The GCC Oman visa online application enables Indian nationals to apply from the comfort of their own home without visiting an embassy.

GCC Oman Visa validity

The GCC eVisa gives Indian nationals and other foreign citizens with a GCC residence card permission to stay in Oman for a maximum of 28 days in total for a Single entry.

Additionally, you MUST enter Oman from a GCC country (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates). You cannot apply if you already have another visa for Oman.

Information and documents required to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa

In preparation for your application, we recommend gathering all the documents you need beforehand. The following documents are required for the GCC Resident eVisa:

  • Applicant photo: Please note that you cannot wear sleeveless shirts or tank tops in your photo. If you don't have a picture, use the convenient iVisa [digital photo service].

  • Copy of your passport: Must be valid 6 months after the arrival date in Oman.

  • GCC Visa or residence card (if applicable): You must have a visa or residence permit for one of the other GCC countries and must be valid for at least 6 months upon entering Oman. Please note that female applicants will also have to provide a sponsor.

  • Occupation information: This info will usually be on the GCC visa. If not provided, please provide it upon request from our visa experts.

How much does the GCC Oman visa cost?

iVisa provides three options for processing time. You need to select one during the visa application process.

The options are as follows:

  • Standard: 6 days - USD $57.99.

  • Rush: 4 days - USD $73.99.

  • Super Rush: 3 days - USD $98.99.

These prices all include the Oman government fee, as well as the iVisa processing fee.

What does it mean to be a resident of the GCC?

If you are a GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) resident, you need to select the GCC Resident eVisa during the application process. This type of visa is meant for people who do not originate from a GCC country but do have a residence permit for one of them.

This means if you are an Indian passport holder with a GCC residence permit, you can apply for this visa type. The prices are lower, while the processing time remains the same as for the usual tourist visa.

How does the Oman GCC eVisa system work?

The GCC Oman eVisa is issued electronically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oman Government.

Travelers, travel agents, airlines, and specialist service providers like us around the world can use the Oman eVisa system to process a valid visa to those countries with such a system in place. We enter the applicant's information into the system, and after careful review, we are notified of the outcome of the application.

How long does it take to apply for an Oman GCC e-Visa?

Filling out the online visa application form on our website will only take you 10 minutes. But, first, ensure you have all the required documents and information.

How to apply for the GCC Resident eVisa online

The application for this document is really easy. Simply follow these three steps:

You will be asked to fill out your general information in the first step. Additionally, you must choose the processing time as mentioned above based on your budget and needs.

During the second step, you must review all information and make sure all is correctly filled out. Then, pay the visa fees. Online payments can be made securely with debit or credit cards.

The last step consists of uploading your documents, such as a copy of your passport, GCC visa, and GCC residence card. Depending on the circumstances, other documents may be required. Our visa experts will be in touch if that's the case.

Please note: Once approved, a confirmation of your GCC Oman Visa will be sent to you by email. The PDF is not the visa itself. You can print this document to show it to the airline when you travel to Oman. The actual visa will be issued upon entry to Oman.

Do children and minors also need a visa to enter Oman?

Yes. All foreign citizens wishing to enter Oman need to present a visa, even kids.

How to apply for family or friends

You can easily apply for friends or family. Make sure to have all the required documents (see above in this article). If you are applying for a friend or family member that's joining you on your travels, you can do so by clicking on 'Add Another Person' during the application process and completing the information required.

Transit visa for Oman

If you DON'T plan to leave the transit lounge at the airport while in Oman, you are not required to get an eVisa. Otherwise, if you wish to leave the airport, you still have to apply for an eVisa.
