Congo Passport Photo and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

Now that we listed all the Congo passport photo requirements, we think that it is necessary to elaborate on a few of them. The fact of the matter is that an inadequate photo leads to a rejection, and we want you to avoid that. Here is some more information.

  • The background must be white, and there are no exceptions. It must not have colors, patterns, or shadows on it. If you have a white wall in your house, you can use it for your passport photo or visa photo. If you do not, you can simply hang a white sheet on the wall, and the problem is solved.
  • The camera must be positioned at eye level. That ensures the best coverage of your facial features. Remember that both sides of your face must be equally visible. You cannot take a portrait-style photo because it will be rejected. So do not tilt or rotate your head in any way.
  • You cannot smile in your passport photo or visa photo. You cannot frown and you cannot raise your eyebrows. Otherwise, your picture will be rejected. We recommend that you relax your face during the photoshoot so that you can achieve a neutral facial expression.
  • Keep your eyes looking straight into the camera when you snap the picture. They cannot be covered. If you have glasses and the frames cover your eyes, take the glasses off. You cannot wear tinted glasses or sunglasses for your passport photo or visa photo. If you must wear glasses, please check the picture for glare.
  • The room you take the picture in should not be too bright or too dark. It is best if the source of light is right in front of you. That way, you can avoid getting shadows on your face.
  • If your religion does not allow you to keep your head uncovered, you can keep the headwear for the passport photo or visa photo. However, you have to make sure that it does not create shadows on your face. Also, your face must be visible from the top of your forehead to the bottom of your chin. If it is not, your photo will be rejected.
  • Your beard is allowed in a passport photo or visa photo, but only as long as you usually wear one. The point is for the picture to reflect your everyday likeness.

Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos

All immigration policies require children of all ages to hold their own passport and visa. Needless to say, if you travel with children, you need to take their picture too. Rest assured that there are no significant differences when it comes to children’s and adults’ photos, although it is acceptable for a child’s head to occupy less space in a passport photo or visa photo. Here are some tips you may find useful when it comes to photographing your children.

  • Remember that the white background rule applies to children as well. So, if you want to take a picture of your child in a car seat or from above while the baby lays on his/her back, do not forget to place a white sheet on the backrest of the set or underneath the baby.
  • Take the picture when the child is awake.
  • Remove hats and/or pacifiers.
  • Only the child can appear in the passport photo or visa photo. Not even your hands can be visible.
