Marshall Islands Passport Photos and Visa Photo Requirements – Rules, Guidelines, and Specifications

The Marshall Islands passport photo requirements above are pretty clear, but we would like for you to know more about a few of them so that you can successfully take the passport photo at home. An improper passport photo is often the cause of rejection, and we want you to avoid that.

  • Choosing the right environment in which to take your passport photo is incredibly important. For one, the background of the picture must be white. It is also worth mentioning that colors and patterns are unacceptable too. What you have to do is to take your photo against a white background. If you do not have access to a white wall, you can take a white sheet and use it as a background. As long as it is not see-through, the result is pretty much the same.
  • The best position for the camera is at eye level. That is the best angle. You must maintain your head straight and your face forward. Be advised that you cannot tilt or rotate your head in any direction. Portrait-style photos are rejected because both sides of your face must be equally visible.
  • It is not acceptable for you to smile in your passport photo or visa photo. The only allowed facial expression is neutral. Relax the muscles of your face when you take the picture to achieve that result.
  • It is incredibly important for your eyes to be clearly visible. They should not be obscured by things such as your hair or glasses. If your eyeglasses have clear frames, you can keep them on for the picture. You just need to be careful about the flash reflection. Sunglasses and eyeglasses with tinted lenses are unacceptable in a passport photo or visa photo.
  • You have to be careful about the lighting because shadows on your face have the potential of distorting your facial features. Always go for a frontal source to avoid that. You should also make sure that the light has a balanced intensity.
  • Headwear is generally unacceptable. However, an exception is made for people who cover their heads for religious reasons. In case you are among them, you can keep your headwear for the passport photo or visa photo, but please be advised that your face has to be visible from the bottom of your chin to the top of your forehead. Moreover, the headwear should not create shadows on your face.
  • You do not have to shave your beard if it is a part of your everyday likeness.

Rules and Requirements for Babies, Infants, and Newborn Passport and Visa Photos

With iVisa Photos, you can take pictures of your children too. After all, when traveling together, they need their own travel documents. Here are some tips that should help you:

  • Children must be photographed when they are awake so that their eyes are visible.
  • Only the child must appear in the shot. If you want to hold the baby, not even your hands can be visible. The baby cannot have headwear on, a pacifier, or anything else.
  • If you want to place the child in a car seat to take the passport photo, remember to cover the backrest with a white sheet so that the background is white.
  • Lying down your baby and taking the passport photo from above is yet another popular solution. If you want to do that too, place a white layer underneath the baby to achieve the white background.
