When you complete your Schengen visa application, you will be asked to submit several documents along with your payment. The documents that will be required of you will depend on the type of visa you are applying for. All applicants are required to submit the following documentation with their Schengen visa application:

  • Printed confirmation of your scheduled interview appointment.
  • Current valid passport.
  • 2 recent photos. Photos must be taken with a white background and can have no obstructions (glasses, hats, etc.) covering your face or ears. Additionally, the photos cannot be more than 6 months old and must be 5x5 inches.
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months to show that you have more than enough money to cover the expenses of your trip (unless you are being sponsored by a company/institution).
  • Accommodation details (hotel reservation or invitation letter).
  • Medical Insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 Euros.
  • Payment for the visa (Check with your local embassy to see what payment types are accepted).

Make sure you have all of these documents when you arrive at the embassy to complete your application process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When I go to the embassy, how long can I expect the interview to last?

The interview portion of the application process for a Schengen visa will typically last anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes.

What else do I need to do at the embassy before my application is processed?

When you arrive at the embassy or consulate, you will submit your application, submit your payment for the application, submit your biometrics, and provide any other necessary details that the embassy may require of you. Be sure that you schedule your interview prior to arriving at the embassy.

How long does it take for a Poland Schengen visa application to be processed?

Most applications are processed within 15 days after they are submitted. In some circumstances, the processing time can last up to 45 days. We recommend submitting your application at least 3 weeks prior to your scheduled departure to the Schengen area to allow ample time for your application to be processed. Keep in mind that applications are processed following the interview at the embassy.

If the embassy rejects my application, will they tell me why? Will I get a refund?

Yes. Should your application be rejected, the embassy will provide you with a reason as to why it was not accepted.

The current policy for Poland Schengen visas does not allow for refunds. All payments that are processed at the embassy for your visa are nonrefundable, regardless of whether your application is accepted or not.

Can I submit my application online?

There is not currently an online option for submitting a Poland Schengen visa. You must submit your application at the embassy or consulate assigned to your country.

Are applications for children exempt from payment?

Applications for children 6 years old or younger are free to submit. If your child is over the age of 6, you will need to pay the appropriate fee for their application.
