A visa is an authorized document that needs to be obtained by a person from a foreign country so that they might be allowed to enter any foreign country. With the possession of a visa, travelers can visit, live and leave the country legally. A visa is glued or stamped to a person’s passport.

The rules of the Romania Visa Policy differ from person to person as these rules are based on the nationality of the person. They need to follow all the rules according to those of the Romania Visa Policy to obtain a legal visa for themselves or entry will be denied to them. The rules depend on factors like the traveler’s duration of stay, the purpose of stay, etc.

There are several kinds of visas that are available to people to visit Romania but the two most important ones are the tourist visa and the business visa. People traveling to Romania need to obtain a visa based on their purpose.

According to the Romania Visa Policy, people from all around the world need to acquire a visa before entering the country. However, nationalists from over 110 countries, territories, and regions do not need a visa to enter Romania. Some of these countries are Brazil, Argentina, Fiji, Chile, South Korea, etc.

Romania would be joining the 26 EU nations very soon. This means that people from the current visa-exempt countries for Romania will have to apply for an ETIAS before traveling to the country by an online method. ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. Since the visa-exempt country's nationalists can enter Romania and live up to 90 days, this visa waiver system will prescreen all foreigners traveling to Romania to make sure that they do not possess a health or security risk for the country.

According to the Romania Visa Policy, all the European Union country nationalists can enter Romania and stay in Romania for as long as they want because they have the freedom of movement in the country of Romania. The only document that they need to carry with them is a valid identity card or document of themself.

The Romania Visa Policy states that nationals from over 35 countries and regions of the world need to have a visa before they visit the country. They are not allowed to apply for a visa online or acquire a visa on arrival. Some of these countries are China, North Korea, Iraq, Cameroon, Chad, etc. if they fail to acquire a visa before their visit, entry might be denied to them.

In the below section, you will learn how to acquire a visa and what are the various ways in which a traveler can acquire a visa. According to the Romania Visa Policy, the rules and regulations of acquiring a visa are different for every country.

Tourist Visa Policy for Romania

Tourists from all around the world need to obtain a visa to enter Romania except the EU countries and the visa-exempt countries who do not need to get a visa to enter Romania according to the Romania Visa Policy. A visa for Romania can be obtained in 3 ways.

The first way of obtaining a visa available to countries like India, Pakistan, Angola, etc, can be obtained by filling an online form which is known as eVisa. This online application form is very easy and not at all time-consuming. The second way of obtaining a visa is VOA which stands for Visa On Arrival. This is available to countries like Bolivia, Bangladesh, Iran, Jamaica, etc. The countries eligible for a VOA may also be eligible for eVisa.

The third way of acquiring a visa is by visiting the Embassy of Romania to obtain a consular visa before the traveler visits Romania. They have to acquire a visa from the embassy in their country because they cannot acquire a visa in any other way.

According to the Romania Visa Policy, by applying for a visa in any of the above-mentioned ways a traveler can live in the country for 90 days both for tourism as well as for business purposes.
