What are the different types of Schengen visas?
The Schengen visa is only valid for tourism. If you are interested in staying in a country in the Schengen Zone for longer than 90 days, you must apply for a residence permit from the immigration authorities in that country.
When applying for a tourist visa, you may need to consider which type best suits your travel needs. The following are some of the types of visas:
-
Type A visa - This is also known as an airport transit visa. Airport transit visas allow the holder to spend time in the international area of an airport in the Schengen area but not to leave the immigration area.
-
Type C visa - This is a short-stay Schengen visa. They allow holders to stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days at a time. This is the most popular type of visa.
Type C visas, on the other hand, are subdivided into three types:
-
Single-entry - You can travel only on a single occasion during the visa's validity period.
-
Double entry - You can travel twice before the visa expires.
-
Multiple entries - You may enter and leave the Schengen area as often as you wish. The total number of days is calculated by adding the duration of each stay.
In contrast, there are also visas with limited territorial validity, but these are even less common. This is an extremely rare type of visa, which is only processed in extreme circumstances such as humanitarian purposes.
In this case, we have two types of visas:
-
Type B visas - Some countries also issue transit visas, which authorize holders to enter and move within the Schengen area. In practice, however, they have almost completely been replaced by Type C visas.
-
Type D visas - Long-stay visas are issued to people who wish to stay in the Schengen Area for more than 90 days. Long-stay visas may be single-entry or multiple-entry.

In addition to adults, minors must also have a Schengen Visa. Parents, however, must process the children's visas. To process it, you will need:
-
The child's birth certificate
-
A copy of both parents' passports
-
A notarized letter signed by one or both parents or the tutor if the child is traveling alone.
Best time to visit the Schengen area
Choosing the best time to travel to a Schengen Zone destination is vital because it can define how satisfying the trip will be. It is said that the best time to travel in this area is during autumn or early fall since the weather allows for all kinds of activities.
An incredible destination during that epic is Munich in Germany. This imposing metropolis offers the highest quality of life for both residents and tourists due to its cultural and financial importance.
Getting to Munich is easy since it has an airport and excellent access roads that cross and connect all the cities of Germany. This also makes it a delightful transit destination; you can be on your way to another destination and take a detour to visit Munich.
Take advantage and get to know destinations such as Odeon Square, surrounded by architectural buildings and lush gardens that act as a gateway to Munich. You can also get to know Marienplatz Square, where the most famous festivals are held. Additionally, automobile museums are influenced by Formula One as the BMW and those of science and technology as the German Historical Museum (DHM).
COVID-19 requirements or restrictions
Currently, each member state decides whether to grant entry based on this recommendation. However, to avoid problems when traveling, all travelers should check the entry restrictions of the specific country they wish to visit.
Getting vaccinated before you travel is vital to protect yourself from the risks of contracting a disease while on your trip. In addition, many countries have restrictions in place for tourists who are not vaccinated.
The European Medical Association has approved four new vaccines: Comirnaty, Spikevax, Vaxzevria, and Janssen. It has also been accepted to authorize the entry of travelers with vaccines used in an emergency by the World Health Organization, such as Covishield and Sinopharm.
Please note that most countries use a different system to classify risk areas. As a result, recommendations for travel restrictions are now made individually, rather than by region.
