With its early check-in services, world-class shopping and dining, and efficient security and boarding processes, departing from Singapore is a breeze.
So, whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-timer, you'll appreciate the comfort and convenience of Changi Airport.
The Jewel has top-notch restaurants and stores, including one of my favorites, Don Don Donki, to grab a bite to eat and airplane snacks.
Apart from Jewel, the multiple airport terminals offer many luxury shopping and dining options. You can explore high-end brands, indulge in fine dining, or enjoy a drink at one of the many bars inside your departure terminal before your flight from Singapore.
Checking-In to your Flight: A fast and efficient process

For travelers wanting to get to the airport early, the Jewel offers early check-in counters for several airlines, allowing you to drop off your luggage before entering the airport's main area.
This means you can explore the Jewel and the rest of the airport without the hassle of carrying your bags around before your flight out of Singapore.
Pro-tip: If you have carry-on luggage, you can use the 24-hour luggage storage service to store your bags while you enjoy the Jewel.
Normal check-in is also a breeze, despite Singapore Changi International Airport handling thousands of passengers daily, unlike many other busy international airports where checking in and checking a bag can take over an hour.

Every airline has a self-check-in and self-bag-tag printing kiosk. You will find your airline’s kiosk right outside the airline's bag-check counter. There are multiple airport employees stationed in this area to help you.
Pro-tip: If you are worried about your luggage waiting, you can use one of the many bag scales in the departure hall before getting in line to check your bag.

To check your bag, simply get in line at your airline. You will either have a self-drop area where you scan your bag tag or an airline employee to drop your bag.
Entering the Departures Hall: A quick process
All passengers, regardless of nationality, can use the auto-gates to pass through exit immigration and into the terminal.
Before heading into your terminal, this takes no time, so you can enjoy the airport amenities, like the Jewel.

Efficient Security and Boarding Process
The boarding process at Changi Airport is quite efficient, thanks to the security checks being conducted outside the boarding gates.
This means there are no long lines for security checks, and you can, again, enjoy your time in Jewel or the airport's other amenities until just before your flight's boarding time when the security of your gate opens.

Please be aware that any liquids purchased within the airport cannot be taken onto the plane due to the gate-side security checks.
If, like many travelers, including myself, you typically purchase a water bottle and a coffee before boarding, note that you won't be able to do so at Changi Airport.
However, each gate has water bottle fill stations for your convenience. Singapore’s water is perfectly safe for foreigners to use.

I had just experienced the most seamless and efficient airport departure in my extensive travel history.
The early check-in services, the diverse dining and shopping options, and the smooth security and boarding processes all contributed to a truly remarkable airport experience.
The airport is a shining example of Singapore's dedication to providing the highest standards of service and comfort.
It's clear that whether you're arriving or departing, the Singapore Changi International Airport is the perfect gateway to your next adventure.
