Go hiking on Jeju, South Korea's largest island. The volcanic landscape here is best-viewed walking. The trails (olle) of Jeju form a network of 26 routes that you can do in half-day or one day. They have a total of 430 kilometers, where you can admire the enchanting natural scenery of the island, and you must check the top of Halla-san, the highest peak in Korea.

The Olle 1 trail is probably the best to start with. It begins in Siheung near Seongsan-ri and connects the most rural part of the island along 15 kilometers. This path runs between agricultural plots cultivated by old ladies, oreum (craters) where cows and horses graze freely and a path to the coastline that reaches the Seongsan Ilchul-bong, the most impressive attraction on the island: a dormant tuff volcano.

The remaining routes extend between 5 and 22.9 kilometers and limit along the Jeju coast (with some detours inland) and three of the outer islands, Gapado, Chujado and Udo. The latter island boasts brilliant white sand and deep blue water between a jagged coastline and rugged hills. Inside we will find a museum dedicated to the haenyeo, the recreation of a town that illustrates traditional life, the Gimnyeong Labyrinth park and the solidified lava tubes of Manjang-gul.
