Like most nationalities in the world, the citizens of the United Arab Emirates are eligible for a visa on arrival when they wish to travel to Sri Lanka, but only if they obtain a Sri Lanka ETA before departure. If you are a UAE citizen, then you can apply online for an ETA, and iVisa can help you with the online application process.

Sri Lanka

What are the requirements?

iVisa handles all the bureaucracy so that you do not concern yourself with such things, but you still need to provide some help to get the process started. To that effect, you need to give some information and a few documents. They are as follows:

  • Valid passport – to obtain a Sri Lanka ETA, all applicants must have a valid passport that maintains its validity for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival in Sri Lanka.

  • Digital photo – make sure that the picture is as recent as possible and follows all the guidelines for a passport photo.

  • Valid e-mail address – iVisa will send you the ETA via e-mail in PDF format, which is why you must provide an e-mail address to which you have access.

  • Means of payment – during the application process, you will be required to make the payment. iVisa accepts credit or debit cards, but you can use PayPal, Alipay, or WeChat as well.

Sri Lanka visa for the citizens of UAE – the application process

Once you have everything you need, the rest is quite straightforward. The one thing that remains for you to do is to fill in the application form. You should complete it in about 20 minutes, and if you need help with the steps, iVisa has an excellent support service that is available 24/7 and is free of charge.

The form you must complete consists of three steps. During the first one, you are required to provide your basic information and some details about your trip. You are also asked to choose the processing time for your application. iVisa gives you three options but bear in mind that your choice determines the cost of your Sri Lanka visa. Your choices are as follows:

  • Standard processing – this is the cheapest and slowest option iVisa puts at your disposal. Your application is processed within 1 business day, and it costs $55.

  • Rush processing – this time, your ETA arrives in just 3 hours, but you will be charged $85.

  • Super Rush processing – it only takes 30 minutes for your application to be processed. As you can imagine, the fee is higher. $105 to be more precise.

During step two, you must make the payment and revise the previous step. It is essential that you make sure all your information is accurate and does not contain typos. A single mistake can render your document invalid, and you would have to repeat the process. Double-check your application form before you submit it.

The last step is reserved for documents upload. iVisa will let you know precisely what you must provide. Once you are through, you can submit your application and wait for your Sri Lanka ETA to arrive via e-mail. Do not forget to print out at least one physical copy.

The bottom line is that a Sri Lanka visa for the citizens of UAE is easy to obtain. Just get your ETA online, and you can get your visa once you arrive in Sri Lanka. The document you receive from iVisa is valid for 90 days. You have a double entry, and you can stay in Sri Lanka no more than 30 days per entry.
