Can I use expired supporting documents?
Dan M, USA | July 1, 2024
I'm heading to Turkey from the US on the 8th of August and staying until the 11th, before I jet off to Pakistan. Here’s where I’m a bit stuck: my US student visa expires on the 31st of July, and I'm not sure if I can use that expired visa as a supporting document for my Turkey eVisa application. If that won't work, do I need to go for a Turkish sticker visa instead?
Cami, iVisa | July 4, 2024
If your US student visa expires before your entry into Turkey, it cannot be used as a supporting document for the Turkey eVisa application. Turkey typically requires that any supporting visa or residence permit from a Schengen member state or an Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) country be valid at the time of entry into Turkey. Since your visa will have expired, you would need to apply for a sticker visa through the nearest Turkish consulate instead of an eVisa online.
Turkey 90/180 day rule
Rodney B, South Africa | July 9, 2024
I’m mapping out a European trip that includes Turkey and I'm trying to wrap my head around the 90/180 day rule. Does the time I spend in Turkey count towards the 90 days allowed in the Schengen Area, or does Turkey have its own separate count?
Martin, iVisa | July 11, 2024
The time you spend in Turkey does not count towards the 90 days allowed in the Schengen Area. Turkey has its own separate 90/180-day rule, which is independent of the Schengen Visa policy. This means you can stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without affecting your allowance in the Schengen Zone.
Do I need an invitation letter?
Aisha M, UAE | July 15, 2024
I’m planning a solo trip to Turkey but I don’t know anyone there to send me an invitation. I’m a bit worried because I read somewhere online (can’t remember where right now) about needing one for a Turkish visa. Can I still get a tourist visa without one?
Cami, iVisa | July 18, 2024
For a tourist eVisa, Turkey does not generally require an invitation letter. As long as you meet the other criteria (such as holding a valid passport and paying the eVisa fee), you can apply for an eVisa without an invitation.
My application couldn't be completed due to an error. What now?
My Turkey eVisa has been canceled. What can I do?
iVisa review your documents and help you through the application process to avoid rejections. But if the government rejects or cancels your application, you are eligible for a full refund of the iVisa processing fee related to the number of rejected applicants. Otherwise, we do not refund the government fees.
You can try to contact the Turkish government to find out the reason for the cancellation, and if applicable, apply again.
If my travel dates change, can I apply for an e-Visa amendment for a change of date?
Do I need to obtain a separate e-Visa for people accompanying me?
Can I get a refund if I do not use my Turkey e-Visa?
The information on my e-Visa does not fully match the information on my travel document. Can I enter Türkey with this e-Visa?
