Can I still get a Uganda visa at the airport?

People who plan to travel to Uganda need to make sure that they have the proper documentation first. Except for the citizens of visa-exempt countries, all travelers need a Uganda visa to cross the border. While there are multiple ways of getting a visa for Uganda, online or at an embassy, one thing that you need to know for sure is that Uganda visas are no longer obtainable at the Entebbe International Airport.

Until July 2016, getting a Uganda visa at the airport was possible. People boarded their flights and acquired the document upon arrival. However, the Ugandan government decided to replace the visa on arrival with the electronic visa. The process has a transition period, in which time the facility became less and less available, and sometimes delays occurred. But now, anyone who arrives in Uganda without having a consular visa or without having applied for an electronic visa will be put on a plane back to where they come from.

What is my alternative?

Since you can no longer get a Uganda visa at the airport, you can do one of two things. You can either get a consular visa, or you can apply online here. Some people prefer an embassy, or they do not know about the existence of the electronic visa, and they end up going through a tedious and time-consuming visa application process. That is because a consular visa requires you to take a trip to the nearest embassy, go through the bureaucratic hassle there, and then wait for a while to get your visa. It is not the shortest or the simplest option you can go for, which is why we recommend the Uganda eVisa.

The Uganda eVisa is very easy to obtain

  • iVisa provides excellent service, and it takes all of the work out of your hands. All you need to do is provide some documents and information, and the rest will be taken care of. Thousands of customers around the world have already done so, which is why iVisa has gained a high level of appreciation.

  • With iVisa, apart from providing the information mentioned above, you only need to fill in an online application form. It should take you about 15 minutes to go through the entire process, and while it is highly unlikely to have trouble completing the form, iVisa puts at your disposal an excellent support service that is available 24/7. You can contact the service by chat or on the phone.

  • As for the application form, there is nothing out of the ordinary. Furthermore, one of the things that iVisa can give you and the embassies do not is the chance to choose a processing time and a cost. They came up with three processing time options, and each of them has its own price. As you can imagine, the faster you want your visa, the more you have to pay, but the fact that you have options exceeds the experience you can get at an embassy. Not to mention that iVisa gives you the opportunity to use multiple means of payment, which is again unheard of at an embassy.

Truth be told, we cannot stress enough how easy it is to apply online using iVisa. There is no trip, you can apply from the comfort of your own home at any hour in the day or night, the prices are affordable, and the best part is that you can get your Uganda visa in as little as 10 days. You may not be able to get a Uganda visa at the airport anymore, but you have a much better alternative now. And it is brought to you by iVisa.
