Please note that as of June 2022 the CDC no longer requires travelers to present a negative COVID-19 test or documentation of recovery from COVID pre arrival to the US

We are improving our B1/B2 application process to make sure it is up to date with current US visa policy. We will make this product available again soon. In the mean time, below you will find useful information to keep in mind for your US visa application.

Getting a US Business visa, also called the B1 type visa, may not be the most simple task, but as long as you pay attention, you should handle the situation with flying colors. First of all, you cannot obtain the B1 visa online. You need to pay a visit to the nearest US embassy. However, the application form can be completed online. The DS-160, also known as the non-immigrant visa application form, is available online, and shortly, it will be available on iVisa as well.

USA

The US Business visa requirements are nothing out of the ordinary. The first requirement is eligibility. You need to qualify for a B1 visa in order to be able to apply for it. You are eligible if you travel to the US for one of the following purposes:

  • You want to negotiate a contract with a US company
  • Participate in meetings with US business associates
  • You wish to settle an estate
  • You want to participate or attend conferences related to education, your profession, or your business

Just to avoid confusion, the B1 visa does not allow you to open a business in the United States. You can only conduct business.

The next requirement refers to the application form. You need to fill one in, and you can do it online. However, for you to do that, you need to be able to provide the following:

  • Valid passport – every person who wishes to apply for a B1 visa is required to hold a passport that is valid for at least another 6 months from the intended date of departure FROM the US.
  • Photo – along with the application form, you need to upload a photograph of yourself. It needs to be as recent as possible and follow all the other photo requirements.
  • E-mail address – once you submit the application, we will process it and send you the application form confirmation page via e-mail. You will have to print it out before you go to your interview.
  • Means of payment – you will have to pay the fee for the B1 visa. In some cases, that is payable after the application form is completed but before the interview. It depends on nationality. Of course, service fees apply. iVisa, for example, will accept credit or debit cards, but PayPal, Alipay, and WeChat will also be considered valid methods of payment.

After you receive your application form confirmation page, you need to schedule an interview with the US embassy. Once the date and time are set, you will receive a confirmation for the meeting as well. You need to prepare for the interview, which means that you must put together all the required documents. The consular officer will ask for the following:

  • The paper that confirms your meeting
  • The application fee receipt
  • A letter in which you describe the purpose of your trip to the US
  • Proof of sustenance once in the US
  • Evidence that you have strong ties in your country of origin (family, job, etc.)
  • Criminal record
  • Documents relevant to your previous visit in the US if that is the case
  • A letter from your employer and the payslips for the last three months
  • A letter from a company in the US that states the purpose of your visit

Looking at the lists above, you can see for yourself that the US Business visa requirements are not challenging to fulfill. Your only concern is to meet them all so that the application process is successful. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact iVisa’s customer support. The service is reachable 24/7.
